On September 24th, 1973, Seiji Ozawa took the podium for his first rehearsal as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is the BSO's longest-serving conductor, holding the title of Music Director for 29 years. At his final concert at Symphony Hall as BSO music director, he leads in a performance of Mahler's 9th Symphony.
